The national-level celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD) in Malaysia was hosted at the Limkokwing University Cyberjaya campus on 8 March 2018, jointly organised with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM).

Speaking after the grand launch of IWD 2018, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, YB Dato’ Sri Rohani Abdul Karim said she was happy to have been part of the celebration, adding that Limkokwing was the best place to talk about and celebrate Women Empowerment.

“There is no other university like Limkokwing because of the diversity here, and celebrating International Women’s Day in such a vibrant environment provokes not only local but international attention as well,” said Dato’ Sri Rohani.

She said Limkokwing’s previous initiative in support of the Women Empowerment Programme was one of the core reasons for it being considered as the best host for the event.

“This University not only accepts different nationalities but also has good amount of respect and provides equal opportunities for both men and women to shine in their respective fields,” she added.

Dato’ Sri Rohani said she was also happy to have been part of the launch of the innovative application, KiddoCare, aimed at supporting the lives of modern Malaysian women and their families.

A special charity screening of the film “TAKDIR” was held at Limkokwing University Hall of Fame later in the evening, with the star-studded cast in attendance, including lead actor Riezman Khuzaimi and Elizad Sharifuddin.
