Limkokwing University welcomed new students into its multicultural community during the current Student Registration Week which began on August 3rd.

Students were enthusiastic for the opportunity to learn from Limkokwing’s globalised education approach whereby they will experience a multicultural learning environment that offers more than what is required for a degree.

Here is what some of the students had to say:

“People here are very friendly and open-minded,” said Louisa Grotkamp from Germany who is pursuing a course in Professional Communication under the Faculty of Communication, Media and Broadcasting. “This was the kind of experience always I wanted from a university in a developing country.”

“It was awesome for me because it is lively place to study,” said MBA Finance & Banking student Insha Bulla from India. “I wanted to come here because I was able to meet others from different countries and mingle with them.”

“I really love the culture here,” said Sharfudeen Shuaibu from Nigeria and is pursuing a course in Information and Communication Technology. “The weather here is great and here is one of the best places for me to study.”

After the registration, the new students will be taking part in the Orientation Programme as well as a briefing on the University’s Eco-system to help them to familiarise themselves in living abroad, registration processes and the faculties at the university.

The university’s faculty programmes were presented to the new students via a video presentation that included the Faculty of Information & Communication Technology (FICT), Faculty of Business Management & Globalization (FBMG), Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FMC), Faculty of Design Innovation (FDI), Faculty of Communication, Media & Broadcasting (FCMB), Faculty of Architecture & Built Environment (FABE), Faculty of Fashion & Design Lifestyle (FFLC) and Sound & Music Design Academy.

The following three-week orientation programme will provide the students with the opportunity to explore the campus while immersing themselves into the Limkokwing’s learning culture.

By emphasising a culture of unity within diversity for each student, Limkokwing’s orientation programmes aims to foster positive interaction between students with their peers from different countries, ethnicities as well as faiths.

This cross-cultural exposure will help the students to develop their networking skills through Limkokwing’s industry-focused educational experience that enables them to establish prospective business connection with their peers upon graduation.

Furthermore, Limkokwing’s practical and industry-experienced approach would benefit the students by nurturing their creative capabilities to prepare them for future successes.

The orientation programme also include a tour for the new students around the outskirts of the campus such as Cyberjaya and Putrajaya. The tour will give the international students a chance to visit Kuala Lumpur and explore the city’s highlight such as Central Market, KLCC, Pavilion, Starhill and Lot 10. The tour also gives new students with the opportunity to visit the Limkokwing Kuala Lumpur Campus, Limkokwing Fashion Club Store located in capital city.
