Present at the ceremony were Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms. Onalenna Sechele; Limkokwing Board Chairperson, Dr. Ditshupo Ecco Maje; Limkokwing Senior Vice President Corporate Development Dato’ Gail Phung; Limkokwing Vice President Business Development, Puteri Sherina Muhd Suffian; Limkokwing Botswana Vice Chancellor Dr. Raphael Dingalo; Director (Communications and Public Relations), Ms. Mercy Rebaone Thebe; senior Government Officials and Limkokwing staff.

Empowering Batswana via social and economic initiatives

Giving his welcome remarks Limkokwing’s Vice Chancellor Dr. Raphael Dingalo applauded the long-standing relationship between the Ministry and Limkokwing in working together on efforts and initiatives that empower Batswana socially and economically.

“Through offering programmes that are unique and relevant to the vast changing global economy Limkokwing Botswana has produced thousands of industry ready graduates. We have thus touched lives through the width and breadth of this country much as the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has also touched lives of Batswana and the twosome continue working together in touching the lives of Batswana.”

Developing Botswana’s human capital for posterity

Honorable Mabuse applauded Limkokwing for demonstrating its commitment to the development of Batswana, especially disadvantaged ones and mentioned that will assist the Government’s commitment to prioritise relevant training and develop appropriate skills required by the market.

“I commend Limkokwing for its unwavering commitment to providing solutions to the needs of both the industry and community through relevant programmes and customised approaches to learning. To this end, I would like to pay a glowing tribute to   you, not only as a proponent of education and training system that is innovative and inclined towards knowledge-based economy, but also as a national leader. Investing in education, especially on children is securing the human capital for posterity. This promotes good governance, peace and tranquility.”

Limkokwing University Botswana and the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development first formalised their working partnership in 2014 with the objective of ensuring enhanced livelihood of people living in rural areas. This was done through community-based projects, such the annual Miss RADP Beauty Pageant to unearth talent of young women from the ages of 18-25.
