Her imagination knew no bounds, and she was drawn to art and design from a very early age.

The Limkokwing Creativity Series recently hosted a captivating session with Amy Quickfall, the energetic Founder and Director of Studio Nice One. Amy shared her insights on the art of personal branding and the journey of entrepreneurship, drawing from her remarkable experiences in art, design, and marketing.

Amy’s natural aptitude for design and a keen eye for detail led her to pursue higher education in a field that married her love for design with her marketing talents. Today, Amy stands at the helm of Studio Nice One, a flourishing creative studio nestled in the breathtaking surroundings of Sri Lanka. Initially, her journey to Sri Lanka for a project led her to identify a gap in the local market for branding new businesses. This realisation gave birth to Studio Nice One, which has since gained momentum both on and off the island. The studio has worked with over 90 clients worldwide from 14 different industries.

Under Amy’s guidance, a small but dedicated team of designers at Studio Nice One focuses on creating unique brands with compelling narratives, a touch of humour, and a personal, illustrative flair. The studio has catered to local and international clients across various sectors, such as tourism, hospitality, fitness, and wellness while providing graphic design services for interior design and fashion brands.

During her session, Amy shared valuable insights on utilising social media platforms, such as Instagram and Behance, to enhance marketability for emerging designers. She emphasised the importance of crafting a visually compelling and cohesive online presence to showcase one’s design portfolio and effectively communicate their unique style and brand identity. By harnessing the power of social media, new designers can strategically position themselves for success in an increasingly competitive and connected world.

Amy underscored the importance of being proactive and consistently delivering exceptional work, no matter how big or small the task may be. She firmly believes that self-promotion is the key to success, allowing individuals to effectively showcase their unique talents, skills, and accomplishments to a broader audience. In Amy’s perspective, word-of-mouth referrals from a job well done are invaluable for securing more clients and expanding one’s professional network. By actively putting themselves out there and maintaining a high level of performance, designers can create a positive reputation that leads to increased opportunities and long-term success.

The Limkokwing Creativity Series was delighted to host Amy Quickfall as she imparted her experience to eager students, providing invaluable guidance on branding and entrepreneurship. This initiative by Limkokwing University aims to ignite meaningful discussions and encourage student interaction with influential innovators and visionaries, empowering them to learn from the experiences of successful change-makers in various fields.
