Sixty Miss Tourism International pageants participants took part in a workshop focusing on music production and performance choreography that was held at Limkokwing University Cyberjaya campus on 19 December.

The Miss Tourism International is a premier international pageant that promotes the host country’s tourism industry. The pageant also serves as a platform to educate and promote tourism as well as encourage cultural exchange among participating countries.

The workshop provided pageants participants with the opportunity to witness the benefits of multiculturalism through Limkokwing University’s creative and innovative learning approach.

“It is an amazing place where people can meet others from another part of the world,” said Miss Tourism Czech Republic Michaela Haladova’ after the workshop. “Multiculturalism is the future of our lives, because we need to be in harmony with each other.”

“I believe that multiculturalism is important as it shows us how each person is different,” added Miss Tourism Australia Tasha Ross. “It can make an impact on one person’s country and we learned more about multiculturalism here at Limkokwing University.”

The workshop also enabled the participants to gain a better insight on the importance of nurturing creativity and innovation at an early age.

“Creativity is important, because everybody is struggling to be noticed in a populated world,” said Miss Tourism India Divya Agarwal. “You need to be different to be recognised.”

“If you help your mind to be creative, then you can stand out, “she said while emphasising the importance of education as a means of self-improvement.

“Any knowledge gained is a very good knowledge,” she added. “It will help a person to grow and the learning will never stop.”

Limkokwing University regularly collaborates with various organisations to ensure students gain the fullest benefit of their educational experience. The University encourages students to participate in workshops, exhibition and competitions to develop global networking opportunities and multicultural awareness. These enable graduates to gain a competitive advantage in a globalised work environment.
