Nur Najwa Nazri: The Art of Storytelling

18 June 2022

Do you aspire to work in radio or TV in front of the camera as a news presenter, reporter or foreign correspondent or want to work behind the scenes as a producer, editor or researcher? If so, then the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Broadcasting and Journalism is for you – ask Nur Najwa Khairina Binti Mohd Nazri.

Today, Najwa is the Lead Digital Strategists in the digital consumer team at Rhingle, a marketing agency that helps brands tell their story to the right audience through innovative methods, backed by research. “My team handles a little bit of both the B2C and B2B markets. I have been in the digital marketing field for the past 3 years since I graduated from Limkokwing back in December 2018.”

Having taken broadcasting and journalism as her majors prior to her employment had its perks. “It really helped me understand my work better in terms of creating content and storyboards, planning for voice overs and so many other things. Now, I can clearly plan out each content before we propose to the client.”

Rhingle has one aim: to bring out brand stories further through marketing and innovation. “My company covers almost everything a brand would need (Digital, Creative, Marketing, Events, Production and Tech).”

“We are currently expanding our roots and aim to give the best overall services to our clients for all their marketing needs,” she says. Rhingle’s clientele does not only focus on Malaysia, but also the APAC region. “We have 3 main units in our company, and I was given the opportunity to lead one of the youngest and fresh digital teams out of the bunch.”

Prior to her role at Rhingle, Najwa landed her first job at an advertising agency as a Social Media Executive. “My first client was a telecommunication brand called Yoodo. I mainly helped them handle their social media content, strategy and campaigns.”

Today, she works on multiple brands together with her team. One of them involves a rebranding project which involves an all-eco cleaning product from Singapore. “They will be launching in Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. I can say that this is my most exciting project for now. We will be handling their branding from A-Z (from logo and branding, to website and social media revamping).”

When we asked Najwa about her favourite project, she said it was with Canon Malaysia. “I have been assisting Canon with their social media, digital campaigns and media buy planning as well. Being with Canon Malaysia really pushed me to become a better social media enthusiast and I learnt a lot of different layers of digital marketing with them.’

“My previous client won an award for the best e-sports marketing. That is the first time I actually feel proud doing what I do. I was there from square one which really is amazing to see how a simple Facebook group could be involved into something bigger. I can’t wait to see the hard work pay off soon!”
