A senior delegation from Setia Haruman, the Master Developer of Cyberjaya, visited Limkokwing University on 26 June 2018 to discuss collaboration in areas of students’ accommodation as well as commercial partnerships.

Setia Haruman Executive Chairman, Tuan Haji Ahmad Khalif Bin Tan Sri Dato Dr. Haji Mustapha Kamal, remarked fondly about the warm welcome from the staff and students at the Cyberjaya campus.

“I was here long ago with my dad. I have to say that I am really impressed at how everything is still the same; the warm Limkokwing welcome, the international presence, and the vibrant environment,” he said.

The delegation was then taken for a full tour of the Presidential library, where they remarked in awe at the many achievements of both Tan Sri Dato Sri Paduka Dr Limkokwing as well as the University.

Harnessing the creativity of Limkokwing students

Head of Corporate Affairs and Governance, Siti Mariam Mohd Desa, said she hoped that Limkokwing students would take part in future events held by Setia Haruman.

“Having such a wide international presence locally and globally, it will be a great idea to get the students involved in future events to kickstart a long-term partnership with the University,” she said.

Setia Haruman are involved in three major events happening in August, and the visitors expressed interest in collaborating with Limkokwing University to make them a success.

The events are the Cyberjaya Fun Run, the Southeast Asia Creative Conference, and the Cyberjaya Multimedia Festival.

“We believe the creativity that this University brings will add more value to these events and will surely make it a grand success,” said Senior Manager of Business Development, Ahmad Soalahuddin Termizi. 

Meanwhile, Limkokwing University Vice-President of Corporate Development, Dato’ Gail Phung, said that due to the increasing number of students, most of the rooms at the campus hostel were occupied.

She proposed that Setia Haruman look into providing a platform to collaborate for the benefit of students in getting safe and affrodable accomodation, to which the visitors responded that they looked forward to discuss the matter in further detail.
