Limkokwing University performs at KL International Jazz Festival

The KL International Jazz Festival 2013 became a fervent tribute to the jazz loving community of Malaysia with a great audience, lots of vivid jazz bands together with a string of unique live performances, including one from the Sound and Music Academy Group from Limkokwing University.

The KL International Jazz Festival 2013 became a fervent tribute to the jazz loving community of Malaysia with a great audience, lots of vivid jazz bands together with a string of unique live performances, including one from the Sound and Music Academy Group from Limkokwing University.

Talented Ernie Shaheerah serenades the crowd with her vocals during a peromance by the Sound and Music Group Academy’s perform case at the KL International Jazz Festival.

The group of six, inclusive of lecturers and students from the Sound and Music Design Academy, teamed up to create a sharp artistic quality group that won the hearts of the crowd. They performed four numbers; amongst them their own composition entitled “Broken Glass”.

Ernie Shaheerah and Jonah Sithole, both talented alumni from Limkokwing, were vocally leading the band, whilst melody and rhythm were provided by Debbie on the piano. The impressive riffs by Raizil’s acoustic electric guitar, Karl Nyathi bass guitar and Faizal’s drums overall offered wonderful instrumental interjection that was “good music to the crowd’s ears.”

“It was a breath of fresh air, after a long day at the festival, this ensemble woke me up, for a sudden response with, this is good music. I really think they did a great job. A very talented batch,” spoke of Emir, an onlooker at the festival.

Jonah Sithole an alumi of Limkokwing University Sound and Music Academy expressed his experience of teaming up with his mentors:

“It’s really been an exciting opportunity for me as a student to have a wonderful chance to join my lecturers on stage. It’s given me more experience and confidence. The crowd helped boost that courage up as well. It was amazing.”
