Limkokwing University Welcomed FELDA Representative

Limkokwing University welcomed FELDA Director of Community Development Department Erwan bin Aman on 20 July 2017.

He was visiting the Cyberjaya campus to establish a collaboration with the University as well as receive recognition for the agency’s work in upgrading digital capabilities of both public and private sectors while facilitating an enhanced global reach of Malaysia.

Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) is a Malaysian government agency that was founded to handle rural resettlement and to organise smallholder farms for agricultural businesses.

The University had previously collaborated with FELDA on numerous ventures and has been educating FELDA students since 2005. These include innovation of branding and packaging designs for food, textiles, crafts and other FELDA products. Both parties are currently involved in a joint capacity-building plans for the development and promotion of FELDA entrepreneurs.

In 2012, Limkokwing University was among several institutions that were selected by the Malaysian government to provide a skills training programme funded by Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN).

The University also developed the ‘Generasi Global’ programme, an initiative that takes students from rural neighbourhoods and gives them the opportunity to gain a competitive advantage by receiving industry focused education in a global environment.
