‘TuneMe’ mobile site launched at Limkokwing eSwatini

13 August 2018

Limkokwing students in Mbabane have successfully planned and hosted the launch of the National Youth Council’s (SYNC) mobile site on campus.

The mobile site (sw.tuneme.org) is the result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Ministry of Health and the United Nations Population Fund (UNPF).

The purpose of the site is to play a role in arming Swazi youth with knowledge regarding matters they might find difficult to approach their parents about.

It contains information that gives youth advice on how to make the right choices about their bodies, rights, love life and sexual health.

The can also chat live with experts who are ready to listen to their stories and answer hard-to-ask questions.

Event Success

Attending the launch was National Youth Council Regional Coordinator, Thembinkosi Hlatshwayo, accompanied by representatives from the SNYC, as well as Limkokwing faculty members and students.

Speaking on behalf of Makhosini Dlamini, the current National Youth Council CEO, Mr. Hlatshwayo highlighted the importance of the launch in the programme timeline of SNYC.
He said this latest launch is part of his organization’s mandate from the government to be responsible for the roll-out of National Youth Policy goals and their action plans.

Speaking in her capacity as a senior campus nurse, Mary Ndlela thanked the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, the SNYC, the Ministry of Health and the UNPF for collaborating on the TuneMe mobile site.

She encouraged all students to sign up as users on the site and to apply the useful knowledge found on the site.

Faculty of Media and Broadcasting lecturer, Kemmonye Kamodi, applauded the students for a job well done and hoped that the ability they have shown in planning and hosting the event will open many more opportunities for them to explore.
