A group of five Limkokwing University students currently pursuing their education in Games Technology recently participated in the Revive Isotonic’s Masters of Rev Up 2013 with their game called ‘Bricks Revolution’.

Students Jason Chew, Shariq, Cayon Lau, Mwila Nyirongo and Usman Khwaja from the Faculty of Information & Communication Technology transformed the digital game called ‘Brick Breaker’ into a reality sport.

“This event was introduced to us by a senior at the University. We have modified some mechanics of the classic digital game ‘Bricks’ to fit the competition’s theme of ‘Transforming Digital to Reality’. We were given a budget of RM5,000 to organize the actual event and will be competing against 48 different participating teams,” said team leader, Jason Chew.

Jason added, “We had 54 different teams consisting of 108 Limkokwing students who played our game and won prizes such as two Fujifilm Instax Cameras, two Sony PS Vitas, hard disks, power banks and more.”

The team members said the Masters of Rev Up 2013 competition had thought them to gain more industry knowledge and to cooperate among themselves when it comes to management, planning and carrying out the tasks during the boot camp held by Revive Rev-Up Masters.

The grand winner of Masters of Rev Up 2013 will be announced at the finale next month. The winning team will walk away with RM10,000 cash, an internship opportunity and a dedicated Rev Up Zone built at their campus.
