Students present Creative Multimedia Projects to Industry Professionals

Thirty BA (Hons) in Creative Multimedia Students presented their final project during the Internal Presentation session with external examiners on 8 June.

The presentation was organised by the Faculty of Multimedia Creativity to expose students to industry critique practises while encouraging discussions between students and industry practitioners.

Students presented their final projects through motion graphics, animation and web streams to a panel of external examiners. The examiners consisted of experienced industry guests and provided students with feedback and professional advice for their projects.

“This exposure can help broaden their minds,” said 3D Lecturer from HELP University, Irman Ariff B Abd Rahman after the presentation. “The students have potential with more room to grow.”

He said that the university’s multicultural learning approach has greatly benefited students by providing them with worldwide view and diversity to influence their thoughts.

He also emphasised the importance of passion for graduates to succeed as the multimedia industry is very a promising career path with more opportunities.

“The multimedia industry is relatively new and steadily growing,” said Limkokwing Alumni and Freelance Motion Graphics & Illustrator Alumni Eugene Foo Shyang Eu.  “Advertising is changing the way as it no longer relies on print media.”

According to him, Limkokwing University gives students more exposure which would also provide them with more opportunities in the multimedia industry. 

“This presentation helped me to build my confidence and present my ideas to future clients,” said BA (Hons) in Creative Multimedia student Fan Shi Wen from China.

“The industry guest gave me a lot of advice which really helped me to improve my work,” she added. “This experience also gave me the chance to meet industry professionals and build my network.”

Vietnamese student Phan Duy An, also studying Creative Multimedia, said the exposure allowed her to understand more about the multimedia industry.

“I gained more experienced and learned to improve my own work,” she said. “This would really help me when I join the industry.” 

Limkokwing University incorporates industry exposure as part of the university’s learning approach. The exposure allows students to learn from industry professionals to gain experience and develop their networking skills.
