Cultural Exchange Opportunities with the Russian Centre of Science and Culture

11 March 2017

Limkokwing University welcomed representatives from the Russian Centre of Science and Culture Kuala Lumpur to discuss collaboration opportunities for a cultural exchange project on 3 March 2017.

Representatives from the University engaged in a first meeting with Russian Centre of Science and Culture Assistant Director Inna Zakhezina, and Art Critic and Art Manager Nikolai Lugovoi. This meeting enabled representatives from the University and the centre to initiate further development plans for the upcoming project.

The Russian Centre of Science and Culture Kuala Lumpur is a government non-profit organisation that aims to promote relations between Malaysia and Russia. These include cultural, educational and scientific interactions. The centre organises various events while providing information about Russian cultural heritage and its outstanding contribution to the world civilisation.

This project will enable students from Limkokwing University to exhibit their creative talents while fostering cultural understanding between various countries.

The project, currently under development, will feature student-created designs which will be on display during the 50th Anniversary of Malaysia’s and Russia’s diplomatic relations. Students will be able to gain recognition for their artwork which will be publicised by the centre. The centre has also expressed interest with Limkokwing University’s English Language Summer Camp programme that will foster more cultural exchange opportunities.

“We are glad to be able to initiate this meeting to begin this project,” said Inna Zakhezina after the first meeting. “We hope that this project will be successful for the benefit of the students.”

This cultural exchange project will also enable students from Limkokwing University as well as students from Russia to gain industry exposure, networking opportunities and cultural awareness.

Limkokwing University regularly conducts educational cultural exchange programmes with various institutions and organisations. The University’s multicultural learning approach enables graduates to succeed in a highly competitive globalised environment.
