Limkokwing University’s consistent outstanding performance earned it the fourth excellence award at the annual Swaziland International Trade Fair (SITF).

From the nine universities and colleges that took part at the fair, Limkokwing University was chosen as the top performer under the ‘Information & Education’ category.

Organised by Swaziland Investment Promotion Authority (SIPA), SITF provides a strategic platform for local and international businesses to showcase their goods and services to potential trading partners in Swaziland and beyond. It also educates and capacitates entrepreneurs on various relevant issues that business people face in the 21st century.

Themed “Development Unusual: SITF Paves Way for SADC’s Industrialisation and Infrastructure Development for Regional Prosperity,” this year’s trade fair attracted over 250 exhibitors from South Africa, Ghana, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Vietnam and China.

Notable guests at the fair include the King of Swaziland, His Majesty King Mswati III; Prime Minister of Swaziland, His Excellency Dr Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini; Seychelles Vice President, Mr Danny Faure; Minister of Justice Senator Edgar Hillary; Principal Secretary in the Minister of Commerce, Industry & Trade, Jinnoh Nkambule and Swaziland’s Ambassador to Mozambique His Excellency Christian Nkambule, to mention a few.

The Prime Minister of Swaziland said the overall attendance of this year’s trade fair was larger than last year’s, particularly in terms of exhibitors whose numbers showed an 18 percent increase from the number of exhibitors at last year’s event.

This is the fourth consecutive year Limkokwing University has bagged the award for excellence during Swaziland’s International Trade Fair.

The University won two awards for excellence during the 2013 Trade Fair, under categories ‘Educational Institutions’ and ‘Best Exhibition Stall’, and an award for excellence under ‘Educational Institutions’ category during the 2014 Trade Fair. In 2015 Limkokwing won 1st place for excellence in the ‘Best Exhibition Stall’ category.
