  • Namibia’s Higher Education Minister visits Malaysia’s University of Innovation

Namibia’s Minister of Higher Education, Training, and Innovation, Honourable Dr. Itah Kandjii-Murangi visited Limkokwing University’s flagship campus in Cyberjaya on 13th July.

She was in Malaysia to strengthen bilateral ties between Namibia and Malaysia, and attended Limkokwing University’s Graduation Ceremony on Saturday as a guest of honour to witness the first cohort of 30 Namibian students’ graduation.

Dr. Kandjii-Murangi, who is also the Students’ Dean and International Exchange Programme Coordinator for University of Namibia, along with her entourage were given the Limkokwing Red Carpet welcome and then went for a campus tour, viewing various facilities provided to improve students’ learning environment.

“Limkokwing is a unique university because it supports the student to be as creative as they can be, and exposing them to the industry as much as possible,” Dr. Kandjii-Murangi said.

She then praised Limkokwing University’s founder, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr. Lim Kok Wing, saying that he had such a noble vision of bringing youths together and expand their knowledge.

“Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing encourages multiculturalism in the campus, where students learn holistically the crucial elements of coexistence and how to live together with different people. They will then apply the experience regardless places, and it will definitely advance humanity.”

She continued, “His vision reflects a true leader, where the knowledge expansion for youth does not stop in Malaysia, but for the whole world too.”

Dr. Kandjii-Murangi went on to say that as the Higher Education Minister of Namibia, she could see that the knowledge expansion would benefit Namibians to advance the country.

She said, “With such a strong foundation, I believe that my visit here will enforce a stronger bilateral relationship between Namibia and Malaysia. We can expect more Namibian students coming to Limkokwing University to study.”
