Food Court
Sri Lankan food offers a huge array of flavour combinations, making it an exciting and adventurous cuisine. Caramelised onion chutneys along with spiced curries, bitter melon and spicy coconut are served on the side of a big bowl of steaming rice. Being an island with a tropical climate, coconuts and fish are two of the most influential components of Sri Lankan cuisine.
A simple meal may consist of rice, sambol made with chilli, pickles or chutney, and at least one vegetable curry or dhal.
For a quick bite, there are “short eats,” a Sri Lankan term for snacks. These include a wide range delicious snacks including favourites like Achcharu, a newspaper cone of fried spiced chickpeas, and samosas.
