Limkokwing University’s Cultural Festival 2015 is coming

28 April 2015

Limkokwing University is set to host its annual Cultural Festival on the 8th of May 2015 at the Limkokwing University Plaza. The event will see the University’s international student community tapping into their vast and rich cultural heritage.

The festival is wholly run and managed by the international student ambassadors of Limkokwing University who hail from over 150 countries, the festival will be a grand celebration with the theme ‘A World Without Borders’ that is set to bring together cultures from all over the world under one roof to promote international learning, solidarity and cooperation.

The festival will be a platform for students to represent their countries with pride that will be shown through exciting performances and exhibition booths. The festival will include a one of a kind bazaar that will transport its guests to a unique cross cultural experience through various traditional cuisines and beautiful handicrafts from all across the world. The booths will also serve as an educational insight with interactive and fun activities enabling guests and students to participate in the cultural exchange.

The cultural festival in its essence reflects the University and its culture of unity in diversity. All proceeds from the event will go to the Heal the World charity funds which is a philanthropic initiative started by Limkokwing University to assist communities that are in crisis all over the world.

Throughout the years, Limkokwing University and its students have contributed to various charitable causes. The Heal the World initiative has contributed in sending aids in support of countries such as the Palestine, Philippines, Pakistan and Haiti. The initiative was also adopted by UNICEF.

Last year the international student body of Limkokwing University raised over RM50, 000 in funds directed toward the rebuilding effort of Libaong National High School at San Remigio, Philippines, which suffered devastating damages when typhoon Haiyan hit.

With Innovation as its mantra, Limkokwing University has continuously been breaking social barriers and the Limkokwing University’s Cultural Festival is the result of its persistent efforts to see unity among the people from across the world. This one of a kind event is an opportunity for all to experience the world in one place only at Limkokwing University’s Cyberjaya Campus.

This year, the festival will feature special guest performances from Malaysia’s biggest Hip-Hop artists Joe Flizzow and Sona One (who are also Limkokwing University’s alumni).
