Limkokwing University marked its fifth annual International Cultural Festival during a full house celebration on 4 May 2017.

This year’s festival granted local and foreign guests the opportunity to experience ‘The World in One Place’ with numerous cultural shows, traditional dances and exotic cuisines from over 150 countries at the Limkokwing University Campus in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

With three main stations established throughout the campus, this year’s cultural festival was the biggest yet. These stations were the Cityscape, the Island and the Global Campus. The Cityscape featured major sports sponsoring organisations such as an obstacle course by AXN, mini futsal by Red Bull and virtual reality ski run by Mountain Dew. The Island featured acoustic performances and poolside activities. Finally, the Global Campus was the epicentre of the festival where the students showcased their national identity in more than 50 booths.

Attending this year’s cultural festival was the Royal Guest of Honour and Chancellor Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultanah Pahang Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom DK of Malaysia, Her Royal Highness Princess Sikhanyiso Dlamini of Swaziland and the Deputy Minister of Tourism Malaysia YB Datuk Mas Ermieyati binti Samsudin. Also in attendance were delegates from over 100 countries including Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany’s Legal Advisor Dr. Karl Felix Oppermann, Embassy of Spain’s Deputy Head of Mission Meritxell Parayre-Sabes, Embassy of Ghana’s Head of Chancery Stanley Samuel Famiah and Embassy of Croatia’s Deputy Head of Mission Tamara Crnjac.

Guest performances featured local artists such as Kaka Azraff, Kayda, Hunny Madu and a special guest performance by Limkokwing University’s alumni Joe Flizzow and Sona One.

“Limkokwing’s Cultural Festival represents how we are all citizens of the world,” said Joe Flizzow. “It represents how important your culture and heritage is to you regardless of where you are.”

He also mentioned that it was an amazing experience for him to come back to Limkokwing University and see that there are more countries being represented in this year’s festival.

Limkokwing University is a global educational institution that emphasises creativity and innovation. This event serves as the melting pot for culture and knowledge from more than 150 countries coming together to create a fusion of performances and music.
