Limkokwing University held a cultural exhibition to showcase different aspects of the German culture with students from over 150 countries on 5 Nov.

Themed ‘A Roadtrip through Germany’, it was organised by the German Exchange Students and Limkokwing International Student Ambassadors.

The exhibition featured art, food, architecture of the various states in Germany as well as German-inspired performances and fashion show.

On the same day, Ambassador of Germany, His Excellency Holger Michael accompanied by Head of the Cultural and Press Department Carsten Fischer, was on an official visit to the University to discuss future collaborations in capacity building and strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.

Ambassador Michael also took the time to meet other students at the university while participating in some of the festival’s activities.

The Ambassador met with some of the University’s German Exchange students and Deutsche Schule Kuala Lumpur (DSKL) students.

“It was really great to meet our Ambassador,” said Carolin Gunther, one of the organising committee member who is studying Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Professional Communication. “We got the chance to talk to him and show him what we have done at the University.”

While visiting several booths during the cultural exhibition, Ambassador Michael took time to create memorable photos with the students for them to remember their experience at the University.

“It was amazing to see people from different countries in one place,” said Mikhail Peirre Rajendran, an A-level student from DSKL. He added that the exhibition promotes cultural awareness while fostering greater understanding between people from various backgrounds.

Limkokwing University encourages multicultural exposure as part of its learning approach. Students are exposed to cultures from various countries while nurturing friendships through a global network of contacts. Graduates gain a greater understanding of the world which helps them to succeed in their future endeavours.
