Recognised worldwide for making Push and Live, leading-edge hardware and software for music production, creation and performance, Ableton’s latest stop on their 2018 University Tour was Limkokwing University where they held a master class at the Cyberjaya campus on 10 October.

The master class was led by Ableton Brand Specialist, Christian Schwanz and Sound Designer, Syafiq Halid.

They were joined by Limkokwing graduate Alet Arzuan, who is now the Creative Director of Spaceboy Studios, a production company that’s specialised in corporate videos, online infomercials and music videos.

Alet graduated with a Diploma in Interactive Multimedia in 2004 and since then he has been actively involved in production-related works.

“It feels really great to be back in Limkokwing, and nothing has really changed here, especially the diversity of the culture and the many exciting, fun activities,” said Alet.

Malaysia’s very own DJ Blink, AKA Lau Hoe Yin, and composer Taka Suiko Takahara from Malaysia-based indie group The Venopian Solitude were also on hand to showcase their skills.

For inspiring music lovers

The master class consisted of presentations, workshops and performances that mesmerized students and lecturers who filled up the Hall of Fame.

Students were also given the opportunity to have a feel of the software showcased, to enable them to have an in-depth knowledge about the functions of the software.

Christian shared a light moment with DJ Blink on stage as he spoke about some of his success stories and showcased some exciting projects that he had worked on, and he looked forward to future collaborations with Limkokwing’s creative minds.

“It was really amazing to speak to you guys even after the talk, and always remember to keep up the attitude of asking questions because if you don’t ask, you never know,” said DJ Blink.
