Six universities. 6,000 people. Heart-stopping dance and glittering fashion.

For the second year running, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology put on a dazzling Maya 2010 InterVarsity Dance & Fashion Show.

Sharing the stage were students from Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT), Help University College, Multimedia University Melaka campus, Masterskill University College of Health Sciences and Nilai University.

The students and family members and friends made up the 6,000 crowd came to have a rocking night, but it was all for a good cause – to raise funds that will be used to purchase basic necessities for school children from three schools in Selangor: SKJ (T) Pulau Carey, SK Jalan Semenyih and SKJ (C) Chung Kwah.

Lending glamour to the event is reigning Miss Malaysia and Limkokwing alumna Nadine Ann Thomas who was the lead model at the fashion show.

Guest performers rock queen Ella and hip-hop group Gila Monsterz lent their star power to the event and had the crowd singing and dancing along to their hits.

Limkokwing students win top prize

The highlight of the event was the coveted National InterVarsity Dance Competition which saw the participation of a six-member team from Limkokwing University.

In the end, it was the Limkokwing team that danced their way to victory when they won the RM5,000 Grand Prize.

The 2nd runners-up were students from the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology who took home RM3,000, while the 3rd runners-up were performers from the Masterskill University College of Health Sciences, who walked away with RM2,000 for their night’s effort.

Adding to the “vroom, vroom” of the show was an exciting automobile display by Bambush Revamp Motorsport, the main sponsors of MAYA 2010, and to make it all the more fast and furious was the presence of local F3 Renault sensation Chitambaram Kupoo.
