Ulugbek Abduloev: Developing innovative solutions to digitalise the sports industry

28 March 2022

AR and VR, big data, player training and safety, convenience and unapparelled freedom are some of biggest the trends shaping the sports industry. According to research by Deloitte, digital technology is unlocking unprecedented revenue opportunities in the sports industry, offering the potential to draw fans closer through innovative and customised experiences.

To capitalise on this opportunity companies will need to embed digital solutions in all aspects of the business – one such company is Sports Alliance where our alumnus from the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Information Technology programme Ulugbek works as a Software Engineer specialising in Frontend Development and UI/UX design.

Ulubek is at the forefront of developing smart solutions to navigate digital transformation in the sports industry.

He elaborates further on the vision of the company he works for and his role in detail:

“Sport Alliance group aims to take sport and fitness training to a new level with a digital transformation around the world. As the market leader in Germany, the company relies on the state-of-the-art technologies and methods to create a cloud-based platform that can map all relevant business processes from independent gyms to international chains. My role is to develop smart solutions that encompass the front end of our software to create the best possible user experience that makes it easier for people to access sport.”

Currently Ulugbek is working on a cloud-based gym management software called Magicline and making a change in the FitTech industry with Sport Alliance while simultaneously working on a real estate advertisement web application with his friend for his home country (Tajikistan) to help people find their dream properties.

“In my career path, I had opportunities to work in different information technology industries such as fashion, education, real estate and currently exploring the FitTech industry. I am happy to have all these invaluable experiences and I still have the same motivation I used to have since my school days to be a part of something big, to develop projects which help people in certain areas and put my footprint in the IT industry.”

Ulugbek was inspired on how technology is changing the world since his school days. When he was working on his University assignments, he enjoyed the process of development and creating things which were interactive. “I always dreamed of working on projects which are used by thousands or even millions of people and become a part of something big.”

Studying IT at Limkokwing University fast-tracked Ulugbek’s path to a successful career. During his studies he was equipped with a wide variety of skills, which helped him to develop problem-solving, critical thinking and complex analytical skills. “Skills I learnt are especially useful for software developers working with complex algorithms and big data to create instructions and understand design patterns. Also, the university’s diversity helped me to get familiar with different cultures and working in multicultural teams.”

In advising students who are studying information technology Ulugbek said, “I would like to advise IT students to develop theoretical and practical computer skills, make connections with professors and other students and avoid last minute studying.”
