Motsamai Moloko is proof that creative thinking, hard work, and perseverance, with the right support, will ultimately get one to achieve their dreams.

One of the pioneer students at Limkokwing University Lesotho, Moloko has made a name for himself as the first Mosotho man to design a blanket in honour of King Letsie III’s birthday celebrations. King Letsie’s birthday is celebrated annually throughout Lesotho’s 10 districts.

Moloko put the business acumen he acquired through Limkokwing University to good use by venturing into entrepreneurship while still a student. He designed the ‘Linare’ blanket in 2009, and since then the only way has been forward for him, designing the ‘Lioli’ in 2011, ‘Mohale’ in 2012, and the latest ‘Rabasotho’ blanket in 2013, all in honour of the King.

He has won a couple of competitions in Lesotho, including the 2010 FIFA Basotho competition, which was awarded by the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Culture, in collaboration with Limkokwing University.

He has also received an award from Aranda Textiles, a blanket printing company based in South Africa. He puts his skill and talent to society benefit by teaching women and youth to design craft that they sell to tourist to generate income, and he has received an award from Vodacom Lesotho for his generous input into the community.

Moloko was among the 36 artists from all over the world to take part in the 2012 art camp in Andorra (Europe), where they did paintings that represented their countries and cultures.
His paintings were among the selected for an art exhibition around Europe. His paintings will next be exhibited in Paris, France, on the 3rd of June 2013, at the headquarters of UNESCO.

He currently works with Limkokwing University as an assistant lecturer in the Faculty of Design Innovation, inspiring more young Basotho to explore their talents and follow their dreams.
