Limkokwing Founder’s Day commemoration took on special significance with the presence of VIPs at the event on Saturday, 22 October 2022. Puan Nor Suhaila Binti Saat, Pengarah Jabatan Khidmat Pengurusan, Majlis Perbandaran Sepang and the newly-appointed Ketua Polis Balai Cyberjaya, ASP Mohamad Zaidi Bin Osman were warmly welcomed by Limkokwing Vice President Dato Dania Wahab and the Chairman of the Board of Governing Council Dato’ Raja Aznil Bin Raja Hisham and Vice-chancellor Dato' Prof Dr Hj Mohd Razali Agus to a rousing Limkokwing welcome by students, faculty heads and staff.

Puan Nor Suhaila said, “Honestly, this is my first visit to Limkokwing University although I have been with Majlis Daerah Sepang for the past 23 years.” She added, “I am happy to be part of the Limkokwing Founder’s Day celebrations today.”

Later, at the Hall of Fame, she witnessed the distribution of Limkokwing Founder’s Day scholarships to four orphanages: Pertubuhan Pusat Jagaan Limpahan Kasih, Rumah Anak Yatim dan Asnaf, Pertubuhan Kebajikan and Bimbingan At-Taqwa, Ruman Anak Yatim Mary and Maahad Tahfiz Darul Aida.

The homes were represented by the respective principals Puan Siti Hajar Ismail, Puan Norhayati Bt Wan Abib, Miss Mala and Ustaz Ariffin.

Puan Nor Suhaila Binti Saat greeted the kids from the orphanages and exchanged words with some of them. The children were happy to see her judging from their happy smiles and cheerful disposition.

Later, Puan Nor Suhaila and the audience watched videos documenting the late Tan Sri Limkokwing’s many achievements as a creative guru and globally-recognised educator, the only Malaysian to take private university education to Asia, Africa and the United Kingdom.

She quipped, “I must say after watching the videos, I was truly impressed and overwhelmed by Tan Sri’s contributions, not just here in Malaysia but also worldwide.”

When asked about future collaboration between Limkokwing University and Majlis Daerah Sepang, Puan Nor Suhaila was upbeat about it.

“Yes, I think both Majlis Daerah Sepang and Limkokwing University should collaborate since we are also creative in our approach. Limkokwing has a reputation for creativity and innovation in education; it is only fitting that we work together in the near future.”

It was also said the University has the blessings of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), particularly the Productive Welfare Division, in any future collaborations.

Puan Nor Suhaila intermingled with the children and sportingly left her handprint on the board with them. It was an ‘endorsement’ of her appreciation of the Founder’s vast contributions to education and society in Malaysia.

One of the students, Mohd Elfi from Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Bimbingan At-Taqwa said he was happy to be at the campus. When interviewed, he said the late Founder’s videos inspired him to take up a creative programme after his secondary education.

“The videos were very inspiring. Tan Sri Limkokwing is a creative person. I want to study Games because it involves creative thinking, and imagination and it’s also fun.”
