Mohamad Syazwan Bin Mustapah has navigated the creative and education sectors seamlessly over his 15-year career. His story, beginning as a Storyboard Artist and evolving into Intellectual Property Development, shows his vast array of interests. He is making significant strides as an Executive in the Creative Content Division at the Universiti Malaya Centre For Continuing Education.

In describing his role, Syazwan says, “Our goal at the Centre is to lead in lifelong education, integrating advanced technology in line with the latest revolutions.” He plays a crucial role in crafting media and campaigns promoting lifelong learning, a concept he passionately believes in. “Lifelong learning isn’t just a philosophy; it’s a necessity for progress,” he asserts.

The Centre’s 25-year legacy in nurturing talent is close to Syazwan’s heart. “We’re not just an educational body; we’re a beacon of hope, offering free professional courses and training,” he explains. These initiatives are crucial in a world where upskilling is key to adaptability.

Reflecting on his education at Limkokwing University, Syazwan credits it for his foundational growth. “Studying 3D Animation under industry giants like Mr. Marvy Rey Sotto opened unimaginable doors for me,” he reminisces. This network led him to his first major opportunity at Kyanite TV.

Syazwan’s passion for content and IP development was a eureka moment during his time at Scribble Studios. “The process of creating something from nothing, it’s exhilarating,” he shares. This passion is evident in his favourite project, “Cardboard Knights,” which he recalls as “a dream turning into reality.”

“Cardboard Knights,” his brainchild, is not just an animated series but a symbol of his achievements. “Seeing my characters come to life was surreal,” Syazwan reflects. Another proud moment for him was gaining recognition for his unique skills. “Being specifically requested by clients was a validation of my hard work and creativity,” he proudly says.

Looking ahead, Syazwan is committed to championing the cause of lifelong learning. “Our mission is to prepare individuals for future challenges through continuous learning,” he emphasizes. He sees his role as pivotal in spreading awareness about the Centre’s innovative programs.

The Covid-19 pandemic brought unforeseen challenges, especially during the development of “Cardboard Knights.” “It was a period of adaptability and resilience,” Syazwan recalls. The transition to remote work and the eventual closure of Scribble Studios were difficult, but he views them as learning experiences.

For those aspiring to follow in his footsteps, Syazwan offers sage advice: “Plan your career, set goals, and become an indispensable part of your industry.” He also underscores the importance of education as a safety net in the demanding creative sector.
