Wheelchair-bound, hearing-impaired student makes history

For the first time a student with multiple disabilities – Muhammad Hafiz, 25, from Malaysia, will graduate with a degree in information technology, after pursuing his studies patiently and diligently over a period of five years. Hafiz did not allow being wheelchair-bound and hearing-impaired to interfere with his dreams.

He joins two other hearing impaired friends who are graduating, one with a degree in professional design and the other with a diploma in multimedia.

Limkokwing is the only private university that provides opportunities for the disabled to turn their inherent talent into skills needed in the workplace. Many are now gainfully employed as professional designers, while a number have set up their own businesses.

Through this graduation the skills that will be released into the global marketplace cover a wide range of disciplines from graphic design, web technology, architecture, construction management, landscape design,  interior design, fashion design, product design, animation, public relations, event management, mass communication, sports management, tourism management, mobile computing, e-commerce, marketing, accounting & finance, software engineering, games technology, music design, sound engineering, hair design among others.
